The Federal Government of Nigerian through the National University Commission and Joint Admission and Matriculation Board have fully accredited the following no fees paying degree awarding military Institutions.
These Military/Paramilitary Colleges and Universities offers a number of Degree Courses aside the normal military education programs. These courses can be studied unilaterally or along with the military programs for free, contrary to many peoples’ thinking that the Institutions are completely military school.
Candidates can therefore apply for admissions into these degree awarding institutions and when admitted candidates can enjoy free tuition for all these programs. In addition, the institutions are not affected by the Academic Staff Union of Universities – ASUU strike.
Free Tuition Degree Awarding Military Institutions in Nigeria

- Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State
- Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna
- Airforce Institute of Technology, Kaduna
- Nigeria Army University, Biu
- Nigeria Maritime Academy, Delta
- Nigerian Army College of Nursing
- Nigeria Airforce College of Nursing, Kaduna.
These special tertiary degree awarding institutions are blend of military and civilian staff and students. They are accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), National University Commission (NUC), Council for the Regulation of Engineers in Nigeria (COREN), Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) etc.
These institutions conduct: undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in aerospace engineering and allied disciplines.
