FG Inaugurate Panels to Investigate Federal Colleges of Education and Polytechnics

The Federal Government has inaugurated Visitation Panels to 21 Federal Colleges of Education and 25 Federal Polytechnics. At the event in Abuja the Minister of education Mallam Adamu Adamu said each panel is expected to review the performance of the institutions assigned in the areas of Governance, Academic standards, Quality Assurance, Management of Finances and relationship between management staff and students.

The minister represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry Mr. Sony Ejonor Said the panel will also investigate the application of forms particularly the special grant and loans meant for specific projects to determine the status of such projects and their relevance for further funding.

Each panel is to carefully determine the relationship between the institution and it’s various bodies according to its law of operation, planning, finance, discipline and guidance

Responding, the visitation panels said that the task before them is to fulfill the Government’s desire to make the institutions grow for better service.

The task before us is the fulfilment of government desire to continue probe into the workings of these institutions with the goal of ensuring continues qualitative development of the institutions in the service of National Development. We appreciate the enormity of this tax before us.

The Panel pledge to respect the terms given within the time line while urging the Government to do justice to the recommendations of the panel.
