The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has tasked the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC members to respect the traditions, religious and cultural believes of their host communities and work towards strengthening the unity of the country for social security and peaceful coexistence.
The Sultan gave the charge while receiving the 2021 Batch B NYSC corps members at his palace, noting that the purpose of the NYSC service was to create understanding for unity and peaceful coexistence in the country. He said the security and feature of Nigeria hinges completely in the hands of the youth and urged them not to allow themselves to be used by selfish individuals.
The Sultan advised the corps members to be security conscious where ever they go. He also welcomed the new NYSC Sokoto State Coordinator, Muhammad Na Kamba who was transferred from Cross River to Sokoto State.
“The important think that is always preached often times to those of you who come into our State is that they should respect traditions, religious and cultural believes of our people.”
Earlier the New NYSC State Coordinator, said they were in the palace to receive blessings and fatherly advice from the Sultan.
“Whenever a new set of corps members’ are deployed to Sokoto State we do come and visit his eminence the sultan of Sokoto for his blessing and advise.”
A reception was held in honor of the NYSC Corps Members in the Palace.
