The King Abdulaziz University Scholarship is a Fully Funded Scholarship to Pursue a Bachelors’s Degree, Master’s Degree and PhD Degree. An Applicant Whose First Language is Not English is required to take an approval Exam in English. The scholarship is available for academic session of 2022 / 2023.

Arabic Language Diploma

The Arabic Language Diploma is intended for speakers of other languages and aims to teach them Arabic language and its culture.

The program grants two types of certificates approved by King Abdul Aziz University:

• Certificate of linguistic preparation for completing the first year courses:
  • This certificate is granted with two conditions: Attendance of the student is not less than 80% of the number of hours of study in each of the courses.
  • Pass the course exam by at least 60% of the final grade.
• Certificate of General Diploma in Arabic Language (completion of study):
  • This certificate is granted with two conditions: Certificate of General Diploma in Arabic Language (completion of study):
    • This certificate is granted with two conditions: Attendance of the student not less than 80% of the number of hours of each course.
    • Pass the examinations of all the courses of this diploma by not less than 60% of the final grade.

Entry Requirements For King Abdulaziz University Undergraduate Admission

1. Student must be of good conduct.
2. Student must make full commitment to the KAU regulations and by-laws.
3. Student must be medically fit.
4. Student must have obtained a secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent from within KSA or abroad.
5. Regular Students attending in the morning duty must commit themselves to full time study.
6. The student’s secondary school graduation certificate must not be older than 3 years.
7. Student must not be younger than 17 years old or older than 25 years old for undergraduate level.
8. Student must not be dismissed from any university for any reason.
9. Student must not have been awarded a scholarship from a Saudi University.
10. A Female student must be accompanied by a relative who is within the prohibited degrees with a regular resident.
11. Student must be eligible for admission requirements.

Eligibility Criteria for KAU Scholarship

The following criteria are required for admission into King Abdulaziz University, and award of Scholarship for International students in KAU, kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

• The Applicant’s Age must not exceed (35) Years for PhD And (30) Years for Masters and 25 Years for Bachelors Degree.
• The Applicant Must Have a University Degree From an Accredited College or University and Should Have a Degree With “very Good” at Least.
• For Masters and PhD, an applicant whose first language is not english is required to take an approval Exam in English The Approved Exams and Minimum Required Scores Are Listed Below:
  1. TOEFL (PBT)=500
  2. TOEFL (CBT)=173
  3. TOEFL (IBT)=61
  4. IELTS=5
• He Must Have a Record of Good Conduct and Must Be Medically Fit.
• He Must Not Have Been Dismissed From Any University.
• A Female student must be accompanied by a relative who is within the prohibited degrees with a regular resident.
• Students must be eligible for admission requirements.

King Abdulaziz University Scholarship

The KAU scholarship is offered to students from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based on the Kingdom’s relations with other countries linked through Islamic, Arab, fraternal and cultural grounds.

Terms and Conditions for KAU Scholarship

• The student must be of good conduct and behavior.
• The student must pledge to abide by the rules and regulation of university.
• The student must be medically fit.
• Must hold higher secondary school certificate or its equivalent from inside or outside the Kingdom.
• Must be committed to full time study (for those students attending morning session).
• Should not exceed three years from the date of receiving the higher secondary school certificate.
• The age for undergraduates should not be less than 17 years or more than 25 years.
• The student should not be dismissed from any one of the universities for any reason.
• The student must not receive scholarship from other universities in the Kingdom.
• Female students must be accompanied by a male guardian (Mahram) who should be either on scholarship or a resident of Kingdom holding a valid residence permit (Iqama).
• Good command of written and spoken arabic is a pre condition for joining the BA programme

 Application Procedure for KAU Scholarship 

1. The student must apply through the university website (Scholarship Gateway) or through the Embassy / Consulate of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in their respective countries.
2. The student information is verified for its accuracy.
3. The information is submitted to the Ministry for approval and acceptance.
4. The student will be notified to visit Embassy of Kingdom for attestation of documents.
5. The visa is issued to the student in order to complete the necessary formalities for travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

King Abdulaziz University Scholarship in Saudi Arabia 2022-23 is a Fully Funded Free Scholarship for students from any part of the world. All of the following expenses will be covered by the University.

• Offer subsidized meals.
• Suitable accommodation and appropriate scientific, social, cultural care and guidance.
• Two way ticket for student only at the end of each academic year as per the rules.
• Monthly stipend.
• Two month stipend upon arrival as preparation allowance.
• Distinction allowance for outstanding students.
• Three month stipend as graduation allowance for shipment of books.
• Avail university sport facilities.
• Health care facilities for the student.

General Scholarship Rules

• The existing regulations in the Kingdom denounce extremism and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
• The residency law of Kingdom applies to scholarship student and therefore must adhere to it.
• The students will be under university sponsorship during scholarship and the university is responsible for them throughout their stay.
• The student can apply for family visa according to the applicable rules and regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• It is mandatory that the travel documents/passport available with the student should allow them to return back to the country from where these documents are obtained without any terms and conditions.
• No students on scholarship has the right to transfer from one university to another.
• If the external scholarship student postpones the study or withdraws and in case the university desires to bring back the student then the university will contact the Ministry of External Affairs to allow the student to continue further study.
• It is prohibited for student on scholarship to work for companies, institutions or individuals during the course of study.
• The external scholarship student should leave the Kingdom after completing the studies within a period not exceeding three months from the completion date.
• If the actual duration of scholarship program ends then it is not permissible to extend duration more than  half period the required to complete the program .

• Statement of Purpose Must be in English for all programs except in Islamic Studies and Arabic Language.
• A copy of graduation certificate (certified from Saudi Embassy).
• A copy of transcript (certified from Saudi Embassy).
• Recommendation letters should be submitted from two of his former professors.
• A copy of a valid passport at least one year.
