Students of Plateau State Polytechnic Protest over Failure to Commence Semester Examinations

Students of the Plateau State Polytechnic has staged a peaceful protest over the failure of the school to commence their second semester examinations due to the current strike action by lecturers of the school.

The students who blocked the Yakubu Gowon road in Jos, the State capital said they met empty offices and were left unattended to at the examination halls upon their arrival to school.

The students carried placards bearing different inscriptions expressing their displeasure over the development.

Meanwhile, the Plateau State Government said it has resolved that lecturers of the State Polytechnic allow academic activities to continue while negotiations continue between them so as to find lasting solution to the lingering strike action.

In a statement, the State’s Commissioner for Information and Communication Mr. Dan Nanjang explained that students will continue with examinations according to plan.
