The Bayero University Kano, BUK has secured approval from the National Universities Commission, NUC to offer Bachelor of Arts degree in Shariah as part of its undergraduate programs.
This is contained in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB weekly bulletin which was made available to news men in Abuja on Monday.
In the bulletin the National Universities Commission okays for Bayero University in Kano to introduce the Bachelor of Arts degree in Shariah program following the University meeting the requirements for the degree program and successful accreditation.
This means that students of Art can now apply for admission for B.A in Shariah programme in Bayero University in Kano through the 2022 JAMB’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
NUC is the regulatory body for universities in Nigeria. It is responsible for the accreditation and approval of new courses in Federal, States and Private Universities.
According to the bulletin, the NUC also approved three affiliate courses for the Federal College of Education in Kano. These are B.A. (Ed.) Islamic Studies, B.Sc. (Ed.) Biology Education, B.Sc(Ed) Chemistry Education.
The College of Education, Minna, also go its own share of approved affiliate courses as follows: B.A. (Ed.) History Education, B.A. (Ed.) Hausa Education, B.A. (Ed.) Arabic Education, B.A. (Ed.) Islamic Studies and B.Sc. (Ed.) Biology Education,
Others are B.Sc.(Ed.) Mathematics Education, B.Ed. Social Studies and B.A. (Ed.) English Education.
