A non-Governmental Organization, the Abuja Metropolitan Lion’s Club has donated a 20 bed capacity pediatric center to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital.
The Abuja District President of the club Mr. Aniekan Micheal made this known in Abuja during the clubs meeting and fund raising. Mr. Micheal explained that the Club choose to assist in cancer treatment in children due to its high rising reported cases and death.
A district Governor of the Club Linda Odu explained that the Lion’s Club has carried out other medical interventions at various health facilities in the Country. She called on well-meaning Nigerians to support the club to enable it restore hope to the affected children and their families.
The Lion’s Club International is a non-political service organization established in 1917 in Chicago, United States of America and now has more than 1.4 million in over 200 countries.
