NSCDC Trains Special Female Combatants to Protect Schools in Nigeria

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps NSCDC is training a number of female combatants in a new special outfit across the states of the Federation on the protection of schools and other critical infrastructure.

At the Passing out parade in Owere for the Imo State Command, the Governor of Imo State Chief Hope Uzodinma expressed confidence in the ability of the NSCDC and other security forces in the country towards winning the war against insecurity.

The Governor through his representative called on all those who have hand in the insecurity bedeviling Nigeria to have a rethink as there action pose threat to the education sector.

“We want our schools to be safe and the commandant of the NSCDC decided to use female to build a special squared to help keep these schools safe.”

The Governor lamented that it is unfortunate that while other countries are doing everything to promote education, some elements in Nigeria are doing everything to devalue education.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Michael Orga explained that the Safe Schools Initiative was one of the majors adopted by the NSCDC to tackle insecurity around schools. It is a new outfit created by the Commandant General to provide security for schools.

The female special squared will be created in all the States command. They will be trained for two months on the use of fire arms, Cycology on how to approach the public and be very civil when posted to their area of assignment.
