The Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum has suspended the entire management board of Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri for gross neglect and mismanagement of the school.
In a surprise visit to the State owned institution the Governor realized that most of the school facilities were out of use while some have been taken over by cobwebs and rodents due to neglect.
Professor Zulum who was a former rector and student of the polytechnic assessed all infrastructure and there conditions and thereafter directed the Commissioner for Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Babagana Malumbe to immediately take over the affairs of the school.
The Governor said nothing was working in the polytechnic as all the workshops were not in existence and attributed the situation of lack of funding and neglect.
